Steven R. Baker, DDS, PA
Dr. Baker has been practicing in Prairie Village since 1983. He was born and raised in the Kansas City area. After graduating from the University of Kansas with a Bachelors Degree in Biology, he attended UMKC School of Dentristy.
Dr. Baker and his team strive to provide state of the art dentistry in a warm and nurturing environment. They have always believed in looking for new ideas, methods, and techniques to better understand the complete needs of their patients. From the latest advances in clinical treatment to behavioral aspects of dental care, Dr. Baker and his team are committed to the care of each and every person who chooses their practice. Annually, Dr. Baker attends significant continuing education that contributes to his high standards of practice. He is certified to practice Level I Anesthesia (Oral Sedation) in the state of Kansas. He is active in the local 5th District Dental Association and is also an alumni member in the L.D. Pankey Institute for the Advanced Dental Education, The Fellowhip of the International Congress of Oral Implantology, The Dental Organization of Conscious Sedation, Kansas Dental Association as well as the American Dental Association.
Dr. Baker is active in his community and with his family. On a bicycle, a trail, or just hanging out in a duck blind; the outdoors is where he reconnects with his family and friends. Dr. Baker and his wife Shelley have two sons, and a stinking cute granddaughter. Together, they enjoy the outdoors. Be it hunting, backpacking, cycling or watching a sunset, they enjoy each day together. Dr. Baker still truly enjoys the art and science of dentistry and the friends he has cultivated over the course of his career.

Because our team members play such an integral role in the successful treatment of our patients, we include them in every aspect of the practice. Every morning we review our day ahead to discuss treatments for all of our patients. We also have a team meeting each month to review new developments and learn new techniques, medications, and treatments, as well as discuss clinical and staff issues requiring the understanding of the entire team. Logan - Registered Dental Hygienist
Logan has been practicing dental hygiene for over six years and joined Dr Baker's team in June 2019 after moving to Kansas City from Nashville. She enjoys getting to know her patients and giving them a comfortable experience in the dental chair. In her spare time, Logan tries to maintain an active lifestyle and spend time with her two fur babies, Bailey and Juno.
Shayla- Dental Assistant
Shayla was born and raised in the Kansas City area and began working as a dental assistant in 2012. Shayla loves being part of an energetic team and enjoys helping Dr. Baker create beautiful smiles for his patients. Shayla has a step-son who is ten and a daugher who is six months old. Shayla, along with her husband Tadd and their children, enjoys spending time at the lake, being outdoors, and traveling. Their family has a cat named Bagheera and bearded dragon named Sophie.
Sharon - Administrative Assistant
Sharon joined Dr. Baker's team in 2011, and brings over 15 years of experience to our office. She's at the front desk helping patients with scheduling, coordinating treatment, and making financial arrangements, as well as getting to know every one of our patients on a personal level, and making them feel like they are a part of our extended family. Sharon and her son have lived in the Prairie Village area for years. She enjoys spending her time watching her son's various sporting activities as a well as time with her family. If there is some free time, it is usually spent either working out or reading.
