Because our team members play such an integral role in the successful treatment of our patients, we include them in every aspect of the practice. Every morning we review our day ahead to discuss treatments for all of our patients. We also have a team meeting each month to review new developments and learn new techniques, medications, and treatments, as well as discuss clinical and staff issues requiring the understanding of the entire team. In addition, the entire team regularly attends continuing education programs, assuring that our staff stays qualified to provide the best dental care available in the ever-changing world of dentistry.
Meet Our Staff
Barb Wilson, Registered Dental Hygienist
Barb graduated with a degree in Dental Hygiene in 1976. She has been a part of Dr. Baker's team since 2000. Her experience and interests have been in the field of Periodontics (treatment of gum disease) with a recent certification from the International Conference of Dental Implants. She enjoys building relationships and providing patients with a unique dental experience.
Barb has been married for 39 wonderful years, and has a daughter. Her family enjoys classical music, and they sing in their church choir, they also appreciate Kansas City's dedication to the performing arts.
She is committed to her profession and dedicated to her continuing education.
Jennifer Green, Registered Dental Hygienist
Jennifer graduated with a degree in Dental Hygiene in 1986. She has practiced dental hygiene for 28 years. She joined Dr. Baker's team in 2013. She grew up seeing the dental environment first hand, as her mother is a dental hygienist. Although she began her education in nursing, she changed to dental hygiene after realizing her mother seemed to really enjoy being a part of this wonderful profession. She has a desire to work with people and help with improve their health. Dental Hygiene was the perfect fit. She loves being a part of a well-trained, conscientious, professional dental team.
Jennifer married shortly after graduating Hygiene school. Together with her husband Victor, they have four children, and a golden retriever. They are their greatest joy and certainly keep life interesting. They have treasured many years of scouting, sports, and family fun. They enjoy hiking and biking and spending time in the great outdoors with family. They also love being involved in their Church and schools.
Jennifer is looking forwardd to many more years of providing comfort, care education and treatment to all the patients in our practice.
Megan VanDyke, Registered Dental Assistant
Megan was born and raised in the Kansas City area. She began her career in the dental field in 1998 as a Dental Assistant and has been chairside with Dr. Baker since 2007. She has a great working knowledge of dentistry and takes pride in assisting patients helping them to better understand their treatment. Through her frequent continuing education, Megan expands her knowledge and commitment to the team and the patients they serve.
Megan also spent several years as an administrative assistant working on scheduling, treatment planning, and insurance needs for patients giving her a well-rounded aspect of the dental field, making her a valuable asset to the team. Megan's knowledge of computers and abitlity to keep the office organized helps to keep the office running smoothly.She brings new ideas and dedication to see those ideas through.
Megan was blessed with the birth of her son Kiptyn in March of 2014, and cherishes every moment they have together. She also enjoys spending time with her family and friends barbequing, swimming, and enjoying time outdoors.
Sharon Burson- Administrative Assistant
Sharon joined Dr. Baker's team in 2011, and brings over 10 years of experience to our office. She's at the front desk helping patients with scheduling, coordinating treatment, and making financial arrangements, as well as getting to know every one of our patients on a personal level, and making them feel like they are a part of our extended family.
Sharon and her son have lived in the Prairie VIllage area for years. She enjoys spending her time watching her son's various sporting activities as a well as time with her family.
If there is some free time, it is usually spent either working out or reading.
